 AQUARELA is a brazilian latin jazz band. They play brazilian music interpreted in portuguese, french, tagalog, english, spanish and italian by Miguel and Evelyn Juteau.In 1995, Miguel met Evelyn who was into jazz, they both love brazilian music and so they decided to perform as a duo. After 3 years, at the prodding of some friends who love their music, they created Aquarela (it means 'watercolor' in Portuguese), a group that quickly imposed itself as the most genuine representative of Brazilian music on our shores. Miguel started his musical career in his native France. After recording a couple of successful compositions in his early twenties, ('J'ai peche mon pere', 1987 Polygram Music), he moved to Granada, Spain to study flamenco guitar. He then fell in love with Brazilian music, a passion he has nurtured ever since. After living in Barcelona and Hong Kong, he finally chose to settle down in the Philippines, where he developed a successful career in the offshore software development industry. The band original members are Dix Lucero, George Almaden, Roberto Buena and Teddy Tipon. The line-up is regularly updated with interesting new contributions. Several great Filipino musicians have graced the band over time, notably Michael Alba on drums, Colby dela Calzada on bass, Mar Dizon on drums joined the group on some occasions. Recently, Miguel and Evelyn contributed arrangements, vocals and French lyrics for The Company's latest album (Destination Bossa) the song Whispering Waves, as well as for Agot Isidro's latest album (The Island).
